The Lincoln College women’s soccer team took to the road last Tuesday night and blanked Illinois Valley Community College 8-0 to earn their first win of the early season.  Sophomore Mykensie Ward (Athens, IL) led the Lynx attack scoring two goals while Jaylee Swinford (Lincoln, IL), Miriam Lopez (Waukegan, IL), Alexis Beard (Lincoln, IL), Jazmin Herrera (Waukegan, IL), Samantha Shofner (Athens, IL), and Logan Paige (Chicago, IL) each had one goal apiece.  Swinford added two assists while Paige and Ward each had one.

Head coach Syd Baker said of the win, “All around the girls worked hard and earned the win.  They have been working hard in practice and they put everything they’ve been learning to use.”  Freshman Alexus Nelson-Jones (Springfield, IL) kept the Eagles off the scoreboard with some excellent defensive play.

The win evens the Lynx record at 1-1.
