Head Coach: Frank Eguez
Coach Eguez is a native of Quito, Ecuador, where soccer is a national obsession. He and his family moved to the United States in 1981 when Frank was just eight years old. The family settled in the Chicago suburb of Palatine where he and his four brothers grew up playing soccer in park district and club leagues as well as in school.
Unfortunately, Eguez’ playing career ended due to a severe ankle injury during his junior year of high school, but his passion for the game did not fade. He began coaching at the club level for both boys and girls soccer teams, most recently as a coach with the Springfield Area Soccer Association (SASA). His club coaching career has been highly successful at the youth level with several of his teams earning tournament championships and finalist appearances. In addition to coaching club soccer, Eguez frequently coaches at soccer clinics and works one-on-one with area players in the off-season.
Coach Eguez resides in Springfield with his wife Karla and their three children, Bella, Dorian, and Mikey. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
